How to: Make high waisted shorts modest/ get to know us post

The outfits

For this Tutorial we picked high waisted black shorts. We think they are super duper cute, but often shorts don't quite fall in line with a "modest" outfit. So this is how we made our shorts modest. Normally we both won't feature the same clothing item in one post, but we each got a pair because we liked them so much. So we figured we would show a couple options on how to wear them and what to match your high waisted shorts with.

What you will need to make this outfit work:

1. High waisted shorts

2. A pair of tights Patterned or plain. (Be sure to check the label on your tights to see if they are opaque.) See through tights won't really help with keeping the outfit modest

3. a modest top.

4. ballet flats

5. accessories of your choice.

This is our Little sister, She too is very modest and a fashionista. She was also rocking tights today so we thought we would toss her into the mix

Rock^on

These are some of our accessory choices, they in no way will affect the modesty of your outfit, but they sure will make it look extra stylish.

Here are some fun ways to spice things up.

P.S.
Each of these pieces are $5 or under so they are not very pricey but no one would ever know that.

Who couldn't use a good camel ring?

We are really diggin' the leaf inspired jewelry right now

Well, I guess now is the time to introduce ourselves

I'm Tia. I am newly married to my best friend, I'm in college working on becoming a nurse.

I enjoy singing, theater, fashion, dancing, sewing, home decor and anything DIY just to name a few. Oh, and of course spending time with my awesome family.

And this is how I chose to wear my high waisted shorts. And I'm Brooke. I'm In High school I like to be a trend setter. I also Love singing, dancing fashion, theater, Arts and crafts, and most of all being young and learning about myself .

This I how I chose to wear my high waisted shorts.

I wanted to show the option of wearing a patterned tight under your shorts for a bit of a funky look. You can also tone it down and look more classy with a small ribbed pattern like Brooke's tights. So many tops go cute with these style of shorts, but it was a little cold today so I wanted to show a sweater worn with this.

I honestly was kept really warm so this outfit is OK for a chilly day, also I hate that being modest means we always having to buy an extra cover up to keep our outfit modest so whenever I get the chance to wear a top that is modest on its own I take it. However, cover ups are handy when we need them. We both wore black flats, but you could wear heels or wedges with this too, for a more dressy look.

I got this really fun owl shirt. I knew I had to have it, but it was sleeveless, my quick fix for a shirt I must have but does not fit my standards is a black cover up. I love this cover up because it stays in place and has these adorable puffed cap sleeves. plus it added to my more dressy version of the outfit vs. Tia's fun/funky version

We thought we would get a cute shot of our flats they are both cute but each have their own style.

Hope everyone enjoyed seeing a fun, fashionable and modest way to sport High waist short and keep your dress standards high. Next time we will show a couple different outfits, Btw
we figured that either of these choices were about $40. We don't like to spend that much on an outfit but thought it was pretty good because the items featured today can be paired with TONS of other stuff in our closet.

Well that's it for now. Thanks for reading

Tia&Brooke
